Ten Most Frequently Asked Questions about the CURBCAT?

1. HOW DOES CURBCAT WORK?

The CURBCAT is run by sensors that are controlled by a string line that is set up where your curb is to be poured, which through control arms, operate the Skid Steer Loader.

2. HOW FAST WILL THE CURBCAT POUR CURBING?

The CURBCAT will pour about 6 (six) feet of curb per minute depending on grade and style of curb you are using.

3. HOW MANY MEN DOES IT TAKE TO OPERATE THE CURBCAT SLIP FORM WHEN POURING CURB?

It depends on how many feet of curb you are going to pour. It usually takes 3 to 4 men to operate the machine. One man to operate the shoot of the concrete truck, to maintain a full hopper on the CURBCAT to assure a complete and full curb. One man to operate the CURBCAT, even though the CURBCAT is fully automatic and controls the Skid Steer Loader, we recommend someone be in the seat for safety.

4. WHAT KIND OF FINISH NEEDS TO BE PUT ON THE CURB AFTER IT HAS BEEN POURED?

Depending on what kind of finish you need, many of our customers just broom the curb or you can just float out the curb any way you want.

5. WHAT KIND OF CONCRETE DOES THE CURBCAT USE?

You need to have a "2" inch slump concrete so the curb will stand. If you get the concrete too wet, the curb will fall down. You really have to watch the mixture of the concrete you use.

6. WHAT KIND OF GRADE DO YOU NEED ON YOUR SURFACE WHERE YOU ARE GOING TO POUR YOUR CURB?

You need to have your surface grade to a ½ inch under cut for the CURBCAT to work at it's best. The surface also needs to be flat and no rough places because this will affect the machine's operation.

7. WHAT SHAPE OF CURB DO YOU MAKE?

Any shape you need in curb & gutter. In stand up curb any thing up to 18" tall and 12" wide.

8. WHAT ARE SOME GOOD USES FOR THE CURBCAT?

The CURBCAT is excellent for parking lots, housing developments, apartment complexes and city streets. It is also excellent for small companies to compete against larger companies.

9. IS THERE ANYTHING SPECIAL I NEED FOR MY SKID STEER LOADER FOR THE CURBCAT TO OPERATE?

All you need is a set of outside Backhoe brackets that fit your skid loader. If you don't have any, let us know. The CURBCAT only uses the battery power and (AUX) Hydraulics off the Skid Steer Loader.

10. WHY SHOULD I BUY A CURBCAT SLIP FORM CURBING ATTACHMENT?

There are no forms to set up or take down, cutting your labor costs. What normally would take days to pour will only take hours with the CURBCAT. The CURBCAT cost thousands of dollars less that other curb machines. It is lightweight enough that you can haul it around from job to job with your own equipment without having to pay someone to move it for you. It weighs a mere 1600 pounds.
